EAP+
  • Available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
  • Confidential help and support when staff need it.
  • Unlimited access.
  • Experienced & Qualified Counsellors.

Who is the service for?
Anyone can experience problems that can temporarily disrupt their lives. Discussing such problems confidentially with trained counsellors or experts can help people to cope.

Our EAP+ is available for any employee and their partner or family (living with them) 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

Who will they talk to?
Our telephone help lines are staffed 24 hours a day by a team of qualified and experienced counsellors, nurses, lawyers and tax specialists.

Whatever the problem, callers will be put through to the person best able to help them with their particular problem. Our staff are friendly and professional and will provide a completely confidential service.

What sort of things can be discussed on the helpline?
  • Counselling for problems of stress, redundancy, bereavement, personal accident or trauma.
  • Medical information, first aid, health and travel advice.
  • Legal matters.
  • Debt, tax or benefits.

What happens if they need additional counselling?
Employees can call the helpline as many times as they need to. Occasionally, it becomes apparent that someone may need face-to-face counselling or therapy. In this case, we can arrange face-to-face counselling for the individual using an appropriately qualified professional from our national network of counsellors.

What are the benefits for the organisation?
  • Research indicates a fall in sickness absence after the introduction of an EAP+ when linked with management strategies to improve attendance.
  • EAP+ can quickly cover its own costs in helping individuals to deal with problems in an effective and speedy manner.
  • Having EAP+ ensures additional compliance with the Health & Safety at Work Act and may reduce the risk of litigation.
  • The provision of counselling complies with the Health & Safety Executive recommendations on managing stress at work.
  • The Medical Information Service can reduce time taken for visits to the GP.
Employees feel more valued and consequently employee satisfaction is higher.

Face-to Face Counselling Services
Although face-to-face counselling is offered as part of the total Employee Assistance Programme package, Cheviot Artus can also provide this counselling as a separate and individualised service to client companies.
