SVSV, Triple Five Soul to produce bamboo and soy garments VANCOUVER, Dec. 12 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Hemptown Clothing Inc. announced today it is supplying alternative textiles to Serum Versus Venom(TM) (SVSV) and Triple Five Soul for their newest fashion lines. The New York City and Los Angeles based brands will use Bamboo and Soy for their cutting-edge street inspired apparel. Hemptown President Jason Finnis: "Our partnership with SVSV will promote alternative organic fabrics to a mainstream fashion customer. David Gensler and his team have created amazing brands and this alternative fabric line will go a long way to promote organic textiles as a fashion item." SVSV President David Gensler "We are working with a true expert and innovator in sustainable fibers. Hemptown has helped us realize our vision of incorporating highly lush and sustainable materials into our latest collection. We will continue to work closely with them to explore new cutting edge materials and techniques." In addition to the companys expertise in Bamboo and Soy, Hemptown and the Canadian federal science organization NRC have jointly developed a patentable enzyme process to transform industrial hemp into a soft, white fibre. The process and the end product, called CRAILAR(TM) is highly environmentally sensitive, grown organically without the use of pesticides, toxic fertilizers or the enormous fresh water irrigation required by cotton. Worldwide petroleum and cotton based textiles make a huge environmental footprint in production and are not sustainable for our future. Mr. Finnis continues: "SVSV is an ideal partner and our two companies will work together to explore innovative ways of taking hemp, bamboo, soy, and our soon to be released CRAILAR fibre into high fashion and street inspired brands." Serum Versus Venom(TM) is a modern luxury brand focusing on re-establishing quality based value in a landscape of hollow brands. Rooted in street culture, SVSV is based around FutureCraft(TM), a design philosophy that blends pure utilitarian function, high technology and the finest natural materials, brought together through traditional hand crafting to create the highest possible product value. Hemptown Clothing Inc. (HPTWF: OTCBB) was founded in 1995 in response to the growing demand for environmentally friendly, socially responsible clothing. Hemptown is developing a revolutionary bio-tech enzyme fiber process named CRAILAR(TM) in collaboration with Canadas National Research Council and Alberta Research Council.
