LOS ANGELES, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- FaithMobile, a cellular service for Christians in the US and the UK, has been launched by Good News Holdings LLC and The Barna Group. The service provides faith-based content created specifically for cellular phones including Bible verses, ringtones, and inspirational audio and video mobisodes. FaithMobile has already signed major Christian content partners who believe in reaching out through convergent technologies. They include: Promise Keepers, a Christian Mens organization with over 5.5 million members; Extraordinary Women with 300,000 members, and Tyndale House Publishing which created popular "New Living Translation" of the Bible. "In our busy lives where we are all balancing family, work, church, and personal business, its great that we are now just a touch tone away from the Word," said Jim Sands, COO of Promise Keepers. The service is presently available in the US and UK on Cingular and T-Mobile and is aiming to be on all US carriers early in 2006. FaithMobile is the creation of Good News Holdings, founded by Martha Cotton, Christopher Chisholm and David Kirkpatrick, who have been producers, presidents and founders in the arena of TV, film and new media; and of The Barna Group, the most recognized organization providing Christian data to the world. FaithMobile chose PA3 Mobile as their technology partner. Chairman of Pa3 Mobile Ian Dodd said "We are proud to be providing the platform for the delivery of FaithMobile and look forward to helping create an environment where your faith is no longer limited by physical location, but instead can be accessed by everyone in a converging technological world." According to a study in September, 2005 by Newsweek magazine and Beliefnet, 40% of Americans are seeking a closer relationship with God and over 70% of Americans pray on a weekly basis. "We will be making a series of significant announcements in the next few weeks of new partners and acquisitions", says Thom Black, a partner at The Barna Group. Rob Sebastian and Steve Rossmann at Endeavor in Los Angeles brokered the deal between PA3 and FaithMobile.
