Openings in Maryland and Pennsylvania Showcase Concepts Flexibility COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Damons Grill, known for ribs, other grilled specialties and big-screen entertainment, continues to gather strength in the Eastern United States as it fires up two more grills in Hunt Valley, Md. and Lewisburg, Pa., with two more locations to come in early 2006. Opened earlier this month, the Damons Grill located in Hunt Valley Towne Centre is part of a recently renovated retail and entertainment complex. The Baltimore-area restaurant is one of Damons largest at 12,000 square feet and includes a banquet facility accommodating up to 80 guests and a game room. This location also features the standard upscale dining room, a bar and Damons popular high-energy Clubhouse with big-screen sports and interactive entertainment. The franchised restaurant is owned by Paul Rose, who owns five other Damons Grill restaurants in Maryland and Delaware. Adding to its Eastern U.S. presence, a second Damons opened recently in Lewisburg, Pa., north of Harrisburg. The restaurant features the chains signature Clubhouse and giant video screens for sports, network programming and interactive entertainment. This location also introduces an expanded use of technology showcasing 17 televisions, in addition to its tiered seating and tabletop speakers. Televisions are located at each of the tables in the bar, in the lobby and, during the summer months, the restaurant patio. The Lewisburg restaurant is located a mile from Bucknell University and will showcase memorabilia from the university as well as local high school athletic teams. It is owned by franchisees Bob Hamm Jr., Chris Baylor and Robert Pierce, known locally for their ownership of the Country Cupboard, Country Inn and Suites, and Best Western. "The Damons concept, with its great food and interactive entertainment, works well in a number of environments, whether it includes the added banquet hall and game room, as in our Hunt Valley location, or as our standard prototype with an enhanced use of technology, as in Lewisburg," said Jon Self, Damons interim CEO. "One of the strengths of the concept is that it is adaptable to different types of uses and is very flexible for franchisees." The two new restaurants cap off a year in which Damons and franchisee Sodexho USA opened the nations first full-service, on-campus branded casual dining restaurant at George Mason University in suburban Washington, D.C. Damons also will open new locations in Bensalem, Pa. and Norfolk, Va. in February as it continues to focus development activities in the Eastern U.S.
