SEATTLE, Nov. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Emick Howard & Seibert, Inc. (EH&S), a
Seattle-based, full-service architecture, interior design, branding, and
strategic market and facility-planning firm today announced promotions and
management changes of its key staff. The changes create a critical middle
management at a time of steady growth for the firm and reflect the changing
roles of its founding partners and firm principals, according to Jack Emick,
president.
"In the past year our firms staff has doubled and our business has
expanded and is now spread across North America. We feel we need a management
team to accommodate this growth and contribute to our continuing success both
in and outside our core areas of industry expertise," said Emick. "Another
catalyst for the restructuring is the changing role for principal and
co-founder, Mindy Howard."
CEO Mindy Howard has announced that she will be stepping down from
day-to-day management to be Of Counsel, providing the firm and its clients her
expertise and involvement on special projects. Howard and Emick began their
firm in 1977 and have shared in its management since. The transition goes
into effect at the end of the year.
"Jack Emick and I recently celebrated 28 years of being in business
together -- we think it may be one of the longest partnerships in the
business. After all this time, our respect for each others talents has not
diminished and we remain great friends. I feel blessed," said Mindy Howard.
About the transition, she adds, "Im not leaving the firm as I will continue
to be involved on special projects and to provide advice and opinions. But I
will be spending most of my time on the real estate development and
construction company my husband and I own."
Howards current responsibilities will be assumed by the firms four other
principals in addition to their new responsibilities.
Jack Emick becomes President and CEO. In addition to his new
responsibilities, Emick will continue to focus on business solutions that
"make great design possible," and general oversight of all firm projects.
Emicks career in architectural design began in Seattle over 30 years ago.
Since founding his company, Emick has worked with high-profile clientele such
as The Benaroya Companies, DDB, Nintendo of America, Paul Allen Group of
Companies, and Fox Sports Network. He earned his Bachelors degree in
industrial design from the Kendall College of Design and completed
post-graduate work at the Cranbrook Institute of Michigan. In his leisure
moments, Emick designs custom furniture, and is an active member of a vintage
auto club. He is a resident of Mercer Island.
Paul Seibert becomes Vice President of Financial Services. Seibert will
continue to head the financial side of the firms business. A nationally
recognized expert, Seibert has completed over 1,100 branches, 20 million
square feet of operation planning and design, and numerous brand-image
projects for large financial corporations and credit unions across the United
States and in Canada. Seibert began his career over 30 years ago designing
100 retail branch banks. He helped form a $32 billion banking corporation as
Vice President of properties in Dallas, and later founded his own consulting
practice in Seattle. Seibert wrote the nations only comprehensive books on
strategic planning, retail branching, market analysis, design, and
architecture for banks and credit unions through the Credit Union Executives
Society (CUES) and Sheshunoff Information Services. Seibert is a graduate of
Cornish Institute of Art. He is a resident of Magnolia.
Brett Conway becomes Chief Operating Officer (COO). Conway will be
responsible for all architectural projects for the firm. In his 20 years as
an architect, he has built a reputation for streamlining systems and
processes, and brings his expertise managing large, highly complex projects
efficiently. Conway joined EH&S ten years ago. A Michigan native, he has
worked with clients throughout the country, including Citicorp, IBM,
Weyerhaeuser Employees CU, Yale School of Medicine, and Bank of America Data
Center. He has a Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Science degrees from
the University of Michigan. Conways leisure activity is furniture building
and light fixture design and fabrication. He is a resident of Seattles
Beacon Hill.
Jim Haack becomes Vice President of Design. Haack is responsible for the
design content of projects, and creating a design department that will
continue to attract top-tier designers. According to Emick, Haack is
well-suited for the position because as an award-winning designer with a broad
range of professional experience, he has a reputation as a creative
problem-solver with an ability to conceive and understand space in different
ways and contexts. Before joining EH&S ten years ago, Haack worked at a
multi-national design and engineering firm. He was trained as a fine artist,
creating commercial art works and prints before he began designing spaces.
Haack has a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Master of Architecture from Washington
University in St. Louis, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is a resident
of a rural community east of Seattle.
