Old Bay(R) Casts Net for Annual Peel & Eat Shrimp Classic HUNT VALLEY, Md., Jan. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Is your passion for seafood deeper than the ocean itself? Enter the fifth annual Old Bay Peel & Eat Shrimp Classic, and you could win $10,000! Old Bay Seasoning is once again casting its net in search of Americas biggest seafood lovers and Old Bay fans. Share your personal story, and you may get to prove your passion by facing off against some of Americas biggest seafood lovers in a peel and eat shrimp competition. Entering is easy, and candidates may be self-nominated or nominated by someone else. Hurry - the entry deadline is March 10. Simply: 1. Describe in about 100 words the depths of your passion for seafood and Old Bay - creativity counts! Think: poems or songs, or make your best case by begging and pleading 2. Include a favorite usage tip or recipe for the seasoning 3. A panel of independent judges will select 25 semi-finalists. Descriptions will be evaluated based on the following criteria: overall creativity of description (35%), persuasiveness (35%), and originality of Old Bay usage (30%). Each semi-finalist will win a trip to compete in one of five regional Old Bay Peel & Eat Shrimp contests, based on geographic proximity: Southeast, Southwest, Midwest, Northwest, and Northeast. The winner of each regional semi-final will receive a $500 cash prize. Additionally, all semi-final winners and first runners-up will win a trip to Baltimore, to compete in the national final - the Old Bay Peel & Eat Shrimp Classic - on Friday, September 1, 2006. The person who peels and eats the most Old Bay-seasoned shrimp during that competition will capture the $10,000 grand prize and earn the title of Americas biggest seafood fan.
