Former 13 Coins VP to Lead Refurbishment and Possible Expansion SEATTLE, Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Seattles renowned 24-hour fine dining restaurant 13 Coins is changing ownership, effective April 1. Jeanne Boyce Jones, owner of 13 Coins, Inc. sold the companys intellectual property and assets from its South Lake Union and SeaTac locations to 13 Coins Acquisition, LLC, headed by former 13 Coins Vice President Stan Templeton. The new owners will immediately begin an extensive refurbishment of the always-bustling South Lake Union location and have plans in place to expand to Bellevue later this year. "After being part of the team that helped bring 13 Coins to unprecedented growth over the past six years, Im excited to introduce The Coins to a whole new generation," Templeton said. "The character of 13 Coins will remain intact; we aim to build upon the restaurants mission of bringing the best service, surroundings, food and drink to our customers. And expanding the restaurants famed 24-hour counter culture to the Eastside is long overdue." The restaurant, which opened nearly 39 years ago, serves a timeless menu of steak, pasta, and seafood. Its history and menu of staples has made it a permanent fixture in Seattles dining landscape at its South Lake Union (125 Boren Ave. N) and SeaTac (18000 International Blvd.) locations. The dining room counter with high-back swivel stools fronting the grill and intimate, ceiling-high booths will remain as Templeton and his investment team expand on the restaurants legacy. Run since 1981 by the Boyce family, owner Jeanne Boyce Jones said she and son William S. Boyce had considered selling the company for several years to pursue other interests. "It has been our familys pleasure to own the 13 Coins restaurants over the past 25 years; it was a difficult decision to sell," Jones wrote in a statement. "The time has come for us to pursue other interests, but we plan on visiting the restaurants and keeping in contact."
